In ancient China Ming Dynasty Hongwu period, a family called Du moved from Shanxi to Henan, and settled into new life. The soil in Henan was mostly sandy, it causes very poor grain output far below Family Dus life demands. But everywhere is filled with abundant nectar plants: locust and jujube tree. During the flowering season, bees were busy dancing everywhere. Beekeeping was very popular in Henan at that time. The family leader-Mr. Du noticed the conditions. He purchased colonies from neighbor, caught wild bees from the mountains, then started beekeeping. He wandered from place to place, shouldered his load on a carrying pole, selling his honey and beeswax to support his family. The family gradually lifted out of poverty. From the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, then to the Republic of China, Family Du have endured centuries of unheaval. But beekeeping techniques have experienced repeated practices and compromise for several hundred years in the hand of Family Du clansman. After the establishment of New China, the tenth generation of Family Du-Hugo Du, setted up a beekeeping cooperative in 1950s focusing on bee farm management and bee products buy sell business. In 1966, Mr. Hugo Du registered Henan Kabu Agricultural Technology Co.,Ltd officially. After decades of development, Henan Kabu Agricultural Technology Co.,Ltd developed into the largest scale bee product manufacturer in northern part of China, and TOP-3 of beekeeping equipment industry. It covers a surface area of 98000 square meters workshop with over 500 employees. The output of beeswax and royal jelly in China total market has been to occupy half. And it has the largest production of beekeeping tools, like beehive, frame, foundation etc. "KB" was rewarded as "Chinese historical Brand" in 2010. And CEO-Mr. Hugo Du was rewarded as "National Nonmaterial Cultural Heritage Inheritor" by government in 2015.
