Hello, I am looking to purchase a prefabricated container house. My company is seeking prefab homes to help address Canada's housing crisis. We are interested in a model approximately 15ft x 40ft that complies with local building codes. The design we are considering would be shipped as a 40ft shipping container, ready for occupancy.
Canada is facing a shortage of 1.2 million construction workers to meet current demand, and this problem is unlikely to be solved in the near future. However, this concept is practical and can make a difference. You may be aware that 20ft units do not meet building codes. While there is considerable excitement around tiny homes, there is no legal framework for them in Canada, and financial institutions do not issue mortgages for tiny homes.
As such, we require prefab units to be around 15ft x 40ft to meet the necessary regulations.
